49-Year-Old Drew Barrymore Looks 25 Again Thanks to This Plumping Primer
Last week, Drew Barrymore threw it back to the year 2000 when she recreated one of her most iconic looks. While the 49-year-old actress and talk show host leans more everyday and natural with her beauty now, her early aughts glam was the moment—think smoked out, smudged eyeliner, metallic eyeshadows, and wild waves—and when recreating it with Charlotte Tilbury, her Charlie’s Angels premiere look was the inspo.
Tilbury gave Barrymore a sultry eye and nude lip that made the star age backwards. While they might be 24 years apart, seeing the two looks side by side, you might not even realize time had passed. I of course wanted everything that went into achieving the look—talk about perfect night-out glam—but at the top of my list were the products used to create her flawless complexion. Fortunately, I know them.
According to the brand, Tilbury used her UV Flawless Poreless Primer to prep the skin and the Beautiful Skin Foundation to give Barrymore an even base and all-over radiance.

Beautiful Skin Foundation
The primer, which is formulated with SPF 50, is a shopper-favorite for its ability to blur pores and hold makeup in place while providing a hydrating glow. One Sephora customer who pairs it with foundation wrote that even after eight hours, their makeup hadn’t moved. And while this is designed to be the first step of a makeup routine, some people say that they wear it alone for that “perfect glow from within look.”
While you could leave it at just the primer, Barrymore’s look included another step: Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation. This foundation has quickly become a Hollywood favorite—used by stars including Sarah Jessica Parker and Sofía Vergara—for its ability to plump and hydrate skin (thank you, hyaluronic acid!) while offering buildable medium coverage. “It looks so natural,” yet effortlessly covers imperfections, said one Nordstrom shopper, while another wrote that they get compliments on their skin when wearing this (that’s the highest praise you can give a foundation IMO). It’s also great for mature skin, said a fan over 55, explaining it’s a “must-purchase” that “keeps skin hydrated, glowing, and youthful” while another noted that it doesn’t settle into fine lines.
Barrymore and Tilbury recreated the star’s 2000s makeup using products today’s shoppers swear by. Shop more of the essentials that went into the grunge-glam look, below.
