Kate Middleton Doing Better Amid Cancer Treatment
Kate Middleton may not be planning her next royal event just yet, but the good news is that the princess is officially on the road to recovery.
A May 28 report from Vanity Fair, written by royal reporter Katie Nicholl, revealed that Middleton is responding well to her cancer treatment, and will likely be seeing greener pastures very soon. The report states that the Princess of Wales has “‘turned a corner’ with her treatment in recent weeks and is feeling a lot better.“
“It has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better. It has, of course, been a very challenging and worrying time,” a family friend told the outlet. “Everyone has rallied around her—William, her parents, and her sister and brother.”
With some glimmers of hope appearing in the past few weeks—Middleton working on her Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood and being spotted running errands solo—royal fans are eager to know when the Princess of Wales will make her return to the public eye. Vanity Fair‘s source noted that we’ll still have to wait a while before she starts performing any royal duties, though.
“There is no timeline, and there is certainly no hurry. It will be when Catherine feels ready and when she gets the greenlight from her medical team,” a source close to the royals told Nicholl. “But she will 100% be coming back to work, of that there is no question.”
This isn’t too different from from Kensington Palace’s May 21 update regarding Middleton’s return to the public eye. A spokesperson for the Palace told BBC, “the princess is not expected to return to work until it’s cleared by her medical team.”
In the meantime, the princess will continue to rest, recover and spend time with family. Per Nicholl, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are currently on half-term (break from school) and the entire family is believed to be spending it at Amner Hall, where they also summer.
