Timothée Chalamet is riding high on the success of “Wonka” and the “Dune” saga. Consequently, he quickly established himself as the “it boy” of contemporary cinema. Moreover, his undeniable talent and charm have made him one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors and admired by many.

However, behind the scenes, rumors suggest a different story. Reportedly, Chalamet may not be as perfect as he seems, with insiders labeling him as insufferable.

On the set of his latest film, “A Complete Unknown,” crew members have allegedly compared his behavior to that of a “raging diva.” Specifically, the movie is a Bob Dylan biopic in which he stars.

Timothée Chalamet’s Diva Behavior

Crew members opened up to the Daily Mail, describing Chalamet as neither professional nor pleasant. Transitioning into specifics, a crew member from the Hoboken, New Jersey shoot revealed, “He is extremely paranoid. We were not allowed to make eye contact with him or introduce ourselves.” Moreover, taking his photo without consent was strictly prohibited, and mobile phone use was banned in his presence.

The Daily Mail added more fuel to the fire, noting that Chalamet detested having the crew around during rehearsals. Additionally, he had a particular aversion to lighting doubles, who are crucial before he arrives on set. Also, he didn’t hesitate to commandeer a portable toilet for his exclusive use, causing massive queues for the other facilities.

On that chaotic day, no fewer than 120 actors and over 150 crew members were present, making his actions even more disruptive. In summary, “he was only interested in himself,” noted a source.

A Director to Blame

However, Chalamet isn’t the only one under the spotlight; director James Mangold is also facing criticism for allegedly creating a “toxic” work environment. Insiders claim that Mangold has a history of such behavior and that Chalamet was the only one in his good graces. An insider revealed, “The director worshipped the ground Timothée walked on because his fame financed the film.”

On the final day of shooting, Mangold reportedly delivered a speech. It said to praise “Timmy and the inspiration his performance had elicited.” Notably, he failed to thank any crew members, focusing solely on Chalamet.

The production responded to these allegations, telling the Daily Mail, “These allegations are largely inaccurate and exaggerated.” They also stated, “However, we take promoting a respectful and professional environment on set very seriously.” They further acknowledged that tensions had arisen at the start of filming but assured that “the issues raised were immediately evaluated and addressed.”
