Ariana Grande Goes Full Glinda at the Olympics Opening Ceremony

This isn’t the first Wicked-esque appearance Grande and Erivo have made since they started promoting the film earlier this year. Over the last few months, the costars opted for coordinating pink and green looks at the Oscars, Cinemacon, and the Met Gala. Still — and I don’t know if it’s the umbrellas or the Eiffel Tower backdrop — this one feels the most true to the characters.

Not to be missed in this conversation about the Wicked stars’s not-so-subtle movie plug are the actual Olympics taking place over the next two weeks. Some events have already begun, but this weekend will kick the games into high gear. (There is also, of course, plenty of controversy, including protests in both Paris and Tahiti.) Now that the opening ceremony has officially ushered in the 2024 Olympics, historic moments and wins are sure to come.
