Baum Und Pferdgarten Are Right On Track At CPHFW SS25

Getting to a show on time during fashion week is a funny little exercise in self-sabotage. While you inevitably find yourself waiting, lamenting all you could’ve gotten done had you not rushed out the door, you also know that any show could be the one lucky punctual show—and that’s not a worthwhile risk. Baum Und Pferdgarten’s Spring/Summer 2025 show was different, though. With the excited energy of guests pulsating through the stands of Østerbro Stadium and field lights casting a ‘game day’ sheen across the venue, waiting was half the fun. Free beers helped, too.

As most of the world turns its attention to the Paris Olympics, Copenhagen Fashion Week hosted its own sporting affair—or, well, close enough to it, anyway. With a swarm of charged guests packed on the bleachers, the show was a culmination of the last 25 years for the Danish fashion house. Founders Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave may have always opted to ‘go big or go home’, but in today’s market, penetrating through the influx of microtrends is no easy feat. And while many brands have showcased infinite ways that sportswear can be effortlessly fused with fashion, Baum Under Pferdgarten asserts that style comes first. After all, you may not be able to fit all your essentials in a diamond soccer ball evening bag, but it still makes for a great time if you’re game.

Rendered in a slightly subdued colour palette reminiscent of American collegiate uniforms, Spring/Summer 2025 builds on the vivid prints and eclectic styling that have characterised the brand over the last few years with bold confidence. Unlike some other brands, that design for a wider net of clientele, Baumgarten and Hestehave have always created with a niche point of view, one that just so happens to resonate with many, whether it’s in the embellishment on an otherwise simple knit sweater, an embroidered button-down shirt, or sporty tailoring that can be mixed and matched for occasions.

As the duo have always fearlessly managed, we see this joyous irreverence for convention in every look, where a bit of everything is cleverly pieced together to form something uniquely whole. And hey, if the crowds are still cheering after a quarter of a century, we’d say the house is right on track.
