Did Mercedes Benz Just Host the Party of the Week? Travis Scott, Kendall Jenner, Bradley Cooper—and More!
Few parties reach the level of last night’s celebration in Los Angeles for the all-new electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class, hosted by Kendall Jenner and Bradley Cooper. The invitation promised an evening “under and with the stars of Los Angeles,” and it certainly delivered.
Upon arrival at Franklin Canyon Park in Beverly Hills, guests were shuttled by a golf cart through an exhibition of heritage G-Class models, including Jenner’s personal G500 Convertible, leading up to the latest generation of the G-Class, unveiled just last month. The journey culminated at a striking all-black, multi-storied lakeside structure, reflecting the vehicle’s sleek yet rugged legacy, where cars were arranged on black pebbles to subtly mimic tough terrain.
In attendance were Tracee Ellis Ross, Selma Blair, Bradley Cooper, Kendall Jenner, Ciara, Joseph Lee, Trevor Noah, Saweetie, Aminé, Evan Ross, Justine Skye, Brent Faiyaz, Jessie Andrews, and others, with music by Zack Bia and Chase B. Guests lounged on plush black sofas, sipped on 818 Tequila, and dined on black cod and smoked salmon served on black plates. The decor, suggestive of Rick Owens’ runway show, featured smoky, brutalist elements, like black fire pits and black terracotta vases filled with smoking incense instead of flowers, and giant industrial speakers that were just as much decor as they were purposeful.
”Los Angeles is a place famous for its legends, which is why we chose to reveal our new electric G-Class right here in Beverly Hills,” said Bettina Fetzer, Vice President of Communications and Marketing at Mercedes Benz AG. “We’re very grateful that so many of our beloved G-family like Kendall Jenner, Bradley Cooper, or Travis Scott joined us to celebrate the relaunch of our icon tonight. And if that wasn’t enough, the electric G was simultaneously revealed on the other side of the world in Beijing.”
At one point, the music quieted, and smoke machines began to shroud the lake. Guests watched as headlights sliced the fog and the new Mercedes-Benz G 580 made its grand entrance down a floating runway. The spectacle could have ended there, but it didn’t. Travis Scott emerged from the passenger seat for a surprise musical performance that included hits like “Goosebumps.” The excitement peaked when a second electric G-Class was unveiled, this time on dry land, letting guests get a closer look as they continued to sip drinks and dance into the night.
