Kamala Harris Brings Back Sartorial Blue Style at North Carolina Rally
Kamala Harris continued her presidential campaign on Friday with a rally in Raleigh, N.C., where she unveiled her economic policy agenda, including price controls and gouging. The U.S. vice president and Democratic candidate wore a tailored suit, bringing back the sartorial blue style that has become a mark of her campaign.
Harris’ suit featured a blazer with double pockets, sharp lapels and stitching details. She accessorized with a pearl necklace, another signature of her style, and a U.S. flag pin.
Although Harris was recently seen wearing neutral colors and a lilac suit, blue has been the dominant shade of her wardrobe during her presidential campaign. The color notably represents the Democratic party.
Harris started a road trip across the country on Aug. 6, following the announcement of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as the official Democratic vice presidential candidate. On Thursday, Harris visited Maryland, where she hosted a rally next to President Joe Biden.
Harris began her presidential campaign on July 21, after President Joe Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the 2024 election race. Since then, the candidate has seized social media’s attention with her Gen-Z-focused campaign.
According to Launchmetrics, the Harris-Walz campaign earned a total of $15.9 million in media impact value — a proprietary metric developed by Launchmetrics that assigns a true monetary value to marketing strategies across print, online and social media to calculate ROI — in 48 hours after its viral “Brat” rebrand. The campaign also saw success with the release of its “Harris Walz” camo hat, which was inspired by Chappell Roan‘s “Midwest Princess” merchandise and sold “millions worth of dollars” in less than 24 hours.
On Aug. 19, Harris will kick off the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Approximately 5,000 delegates are expected to attend the four-day event, with guests including former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
