Men’s Street Style 2025: Fashion Forward Looks

Fashion is a fantastic way to express your personal style and individuality. It encourages you to step outside of your comfort zone in a fun and creative way. With so many exciting and diverse trends set to hit men’s fashion in 2025, there is no better time than now to reinvent your wardrobe and try something new.

Whether you are ready to get your legs out in a pair of daring short shorts, eager to embrace the timelessness of florals and checks, or simply want to try something different with sheer men’s short-sleeved shirts, the latest trends in menswear have something for everyone.

Checks

Checks are a popular design choice for the colder winter months. However, the print made its presence known across multiple 2025 spring/summer collections, and many fashion enthusiasts have welcomed it with open arms.

Checkered patterns carry a regal chicness that simply can’t be matched, but this iconic pattern has adopted different moods and runways. Jonathan Anderson at Loewe revealed trapeze tunics in sugary gingham, while Pharrell Williams’s collection at Louis Vuitton reinvented the fashion house’s classic Damier in much darker shades.

Fendi decided to embrace the preppier side of things, perfect for wearing the country club for a day of snobbery.

Reinvented Pinstripe Suits

More than ever before, suits are an essential staple of any man’s wardrobe, but in 2025, we will see them worn in a far more relaxed way, unbuttoned, and over a simple t-shirt. Pinstripe suits, traditionally the emblem of men’s formal wear, have been on the receiving end of this reinterpretation, appearing across runways with unmatched coolness.

They were featured in pajama style at LGN, as casual tops with stylish frayed hems at Magliano, and in a jacket and shorts set at Amiri. Simon Cracker showcased them in an eye-catching turquoise, while Giorgio Armani kept them incredibly easy-going, simply wearing them over a V-neck sweater.

Sheer Delight

Sheer fabrics have dominated womenswear for years, so much so that it feels safe to assume they are a contemporary staple for any wardrobe. Given their popularity and success, it should come as no surprise that the see-through craze has made the leap to menswear, appearing in a number of spring/summer collections.

During his final show, Dries Van Noten showcased an array of gossamer trousers and tulle trench coaches. Pharrell Williams’s collection at Louis Vuitton may have featured mostly black offerings, but it did include some sheer knits to deliver just the right amount of sexiness. At Dior, Kim Jones was inspired by the mesmerizing ceramic designs of South African artist Hylton Nel.

Flower Power

Spring and florals are a match made in heaven. Although florals may represent delicate femininity in womenswear, the floral patterns and designs on the men’s spring/summer runways for 2025 were not dainty, albeit very pretty.

Instead, designers decided to embrace bolder, brighter, and flashier interpretations of the iconic print. This was especially noticeable at Dries Van Noten and Wales Bonner, where the overall impact was more tropical than the delicate English garden. If you are new to the floral game, opt to include just one piece into your outfit at a time, pairing it with neutrals to allow the print to stand out. Once you become more familiar and comfortable with florals, you can explore mixing and matching different colors and patterns for a head-to-toe flower power explosion.

Sorbet Shades

The runways this menswear season were particularly colorful, showcasing a stunning array of soft sorbet shades that closely emulated the beautiful tones of pistachio, strawberry, marshmallow green, sky blue, and lemon curd, to name a few.

Hermes focused their efforts on promoting softness, peace, and lightness through dainty pinks and blues, while marshmallow greens and yellows reigned supreme on the runways at Fendi and Dior. The beauty of this trend is that it can be worn as individual pieces or as a full monochromatic look, depending on your personal style and preferences.

Weaving Techniques

Designers worldwide have dabbled in their artisanal expertise by embracing a wide range of different and somewhat surprising weaving techniques, including raffia, straw, wicker, and rattan. These techniques were heavily featured in accessories, like Magliano’s belt, which was made by cutting the edge of a wicker basket.

However, powerhouse fashion labels like Dolce & Gabbana focused their techniques on clothing, creating beautifully intricate and stylish jackets and shirts, including using the characteristic weave of Thonet’s chair to make a jacket.

Short & Stylish

In the past few years, shorts, particularly Bermuda-style shorts, have largely replaced trousers in many casual and semi-formal looks, meeting mixed success with fashion lovers across the world. In 2025, shorts will continue to feature heavily during spring and summer, available in everything from bold, sunny patterns in lightweight cotton and nylon to slightly fitted cuts in high-quality fabrics for a more formal fit.

If you want to step out of your comfort zone, you can embrace the itty-bitty shorts takeover that appeared on the runways of Gucci, Fendi, and Wales Bonner, all of which are firm advocates of the short-shorts agenda.
