The Estée Lauder Cos. Names Rashida La Lande General Counsel
The Estée Lauder Cos. has appointed Rashida La Lande as its new executive vice president and general counsel.
She succeeds Deirdre Stanley, who stepped down in April to “embark on a new chapter.”
Prior to Lauder, La Lande served as general counsel at The Kraft Heinz Company for more than six years, and was previously a partner at law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
“Rashida’s extensive experience managing legal matters across a diverse portfolio of iconic and new brands for one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world makes her uniquely qualified for this role,” said Lauder’s president and chief executive officer, Fabrizio Freda, in a statement.
In the role, La Lande will lead the company’s legal strategy and policies globally, jointly reporting to Freda and executive chairman William P. Lauder.
“Working closely with our board of directors, William, and me, Rashida will be a critical partner in driving [Lauder’s] strategy for longterm, sustainable, profitable growth, and bringing our brands and company to the next level,” said Freda.
La Lande’s appointment comes shortly after Lauder confirmed the impending retirement of executive vice president and chief financial officer Tracey T. Travis last month. Her retirement will be effective June 30, 2025, at the end of the company’s next fiscal year, and Akhil Shrivastava has been named to succeed her.
