What to Shop in the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year

Pantone’s Color of the Year announcement always serves as a little pre-holiday gift to our editors. Some years, the color choice is a curveball that sends shockwaves through our Slack channels—looking at you, Peach Fuzz—but others, it’s shade that fills our chat with a stream of party popper emojis and a collective sigh of relief. The 2025 Color of the Year falls in to the latter of those categories, with the announcement of Pantone 17-1230: Mocha Mousse as the official choice.

Since 1999, Pantone’s Color of the Year has served as the ultimate color trend forecast. After a year that was defined by the neon green of Brat Summer, the choice of a subdued, quiet brown might come as a bit of a surprise. But the annual shade choice is meant to represent the current global mood, and to “highlight the relationship between color and culture,” according to Pantone’s announcement. The past two years’ shades were Magenta and Peach Fuzz, which accurately represented a post-COVID desire for celebration and a bit of much-needed extroversion. Given that most people would describe 2024 as a year that was a bit tumultuous, Mocha Mousse is meant to represent a collective “desire for comfort“—something all of us could use a little more of.

The easiest way to incorporate mocha’s demure elegance into your life? Through your wardrobe. Here are 25 pieces that will help you jump into the mocha color trend for 2025:
