It was only December 3rd when a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the two had ended their romantic relationship, about a year after they began dating, with an insider telling the outlet that “They are both young and career-focused, so they’ve decided to take a break.”

But the rumors that the reasons for their split were less amicable than that were present from the beginning. Keoghan and Carpenter originally sparked romance rumors last December, after they were spotted grabbing dinner together. The two reportedly met during Paris Fashion Week in September.

Since then, their romance played out in their spotlight, with Keoghan regularly leaving comments on Carpenter’s Instagram posts, attending Coachella in April to see her and even starring in her “Please Please Please” music video. But despite all of that and the actor being vocally supportive and complimentary, the rumors that he cheated on Carpenter have been loud.

Reddit, however, believes it has identified that woman as Breckie Hill, or it believes she has identified herself. There is, however, no real confirmation that Hill is indeed the woman involved in such an affair with Keoghan, or that there was even an affair.

Reddit was quick to criticize her for even leaving it open to confusion. “The way she thinks this is a flex,” one Reddit user commented, while another added, “Some women genuinely think being a guy’s side piece means you’re superior to his girlfriend, so maybe she thinks this means she’s hotter than Sabrina.”

Criticism didn’t stop there, with one user wondering what the point of Hill even sharing the video was. “So, she wants to be known as a side piece? Influencers crave attention and will do anything for it, but this is just pathetic,” and another added that it seemed like Hill was trying to frame the narrative in her favor. “Seems like she is just trying to make it seem like it’s about her.”

Breckie broke her silence on TikTok days after the rumors emerged.

She publicly commented on the rumors days after they emerged. “I just recently got out of the hospital. I got into a skiing accident and I broke my spine,” Hill, 21, said in a Saturday, December 7, TikTok video. “Now that I’m out of the hospital, I just wanted to make this video and address these rumors that have been circulating all throughout the internet.”

“To put it simply for you all, no, I did not get with Barry. I have never encountered this man in my life. The only time I’ve seen him is on my TV from watching Saltburn,” she said. “I reposted this video [of the rumors] that showed up on my ‘For You Page,’ claiming that I was home-wrecking Sabrina Carpenter’s relationship just simply because I thought it was so ridiculous,” Hill explained in her video. “I’m sorry, but if I really was the one getting with Barry, why in the world would I be reposting about it?”

She added, “Coming from someone who has been cheated on in several different relationships, I would never want to home-wreck any relationship or put any girl through that pain ever. … This whole story is so crazy.”

At the time of Keoghan’s split from his previous girlfriend, the mother of his son, Alyson Sandro, his excessive partying was frequently mentioned as a reason for the breakup. That has also been mentioned as a reason for his breakup with Carpenter, though the breakup rumors also remain at the forefront of the story.
